Math Project due Friday
I gave this same set of instructions to your child on Monday on a green half sheet of paper.
Here are the instructions for the project:
You are the cashier at a store you own. You decide what type of merchandise you sell at your store and give your store a name. Draw a picture of items that would be for sale. Make a chart that lists the items and their prices. Five customers bring their merchandise to your cash register. Tell what each customer bought and the price of every item. Add their total cost. They pay with a bill that is larger than their total. Subtract to make change. Tell exactly how many bills and coins you give the customer to make change.
Example: Grover’s Grocery Store

Volunteers Needed for Oct. 10
Volunteers are needed for Service Project Store during Math Classes
The third grade students are doing a service project for Operation Christmas Child. During Math Classes on Thursday of next week (October 10th) students will be using their money/math skills as they pretend to sell and buy real items that will eventually be put into shoeboxes and shipped across the world to help children at Christmas. I already have the items for our store, but if you want to contribute at least 70 of the same item, I will take donations until Wednesday of next week.
Here is where you can help: I need volunteers to help the cashiers and the customers count and record the transactions. Please reply via email to ckiser@neusecharterschool.org if you can help and please let me know what time(s). Thank you.
Blue Math Class 10:20 - 11:35
Gold Math Class 12:50 - 2:05
White Math Class 2:10 - 3:20
